HOGA has been the trade fair for hotels, restaurants and contract catering in southern Germany since 1950 and takes place only every two years: in 2025 it drew around 520 exhibitors and 16,600 trade visitors. We photograph kitchen equipment, dishes and live cooking so restaurateurs can see quality — and deliver material that has to last until the 35th HOGA in 2029.

At HOGA two subjects stand side by side that contradict each other photographically: dishes that should look warm and appetising, and kitchen equipment in brushed stainless steel that reflects cold and patchy under hall lighting. We work with two lighting setups on the stand — soft side light and a piece of neutral background for plates, pastries and drinks, a polarising filter and directed light for combi steamers, refrigeration and dishwashing systems.
We photograph dishes in the first minutes after plating, before sauce sets and foam collapses. For butchers, bakers and confectioners that means we agree with your team when fresh food is plated and stand ready at that moment.
HOGA thrives on demonstrations: chefs at the stove, competitions, tastings, stage programme. These scenes are motion, steam and hands — in a photo a single moment, in video the actual story. We film your demonstration from two angles, record the chef with a radio mic and cut a 30-second highlight you can post the same evening.
Exhibitors who play host on their own stand — coffee, beer, wine tasting — get images that show exactly that: guests, conversation, glass in hand. For hotel groups and suppliers these are the pictures missing from career pages and tender documents.
HOGA opens on a Sunday; expect a particularly large number of visitors from restaurants and trades who run their own businesses during the week. If you want to show full aisles and conversations, plan for Sunday. We use the hour before the 10 am opening for clean stand and equipment shots without visitors.
Monday and Tuesday are quieter and suit food photography, team portraits and interviews without time pressure. Because HOGA only takes place every two years, we deliver a complete selection rather than a handful of hero shots — your marketing has to draw on it until 2029.
Soft side light in the first minutes after plating — plates, cakes and drinks appetising rather than flat.
Combi steamers, refrigeration and dishwashing with polarising filter — stainless steel without patches, displays legible.
Two angles at the stove, chef with radio mic, highlight cut on the show day.
Architecture and lighting before the 10 am opening, with no visitors in frame.
Tasting, bar service and conversations with restaurateurs and buyers — no flash.
Statements from head chefs, management and customers, delivered with subtitles.
A post with your stand while the show is still running gets seen and shared. That is why every package includes finished photos and video within 24 hours after the event ends — first images usually the same day. Two revision rounds included.
A sample from our production: the event recap for your website and LinkedIn — below it, native 9:16 footage for Reels, Shorts and Stories, shot in parallel with the main coverage.
