Testimonial video production in Germany: your customers explain the result

A customer describing the result on camera is more convincing than any claim you write yourself. Pixer films testimonials for SaaS and B2B companies, agencies and exhibitors: at the customer's site, on the trade fair stand or at your office, on two cameras with a question list prepared in advance. Testimonial packages from €990 plus VAT.

What a testimonial video is and who buys one

A testimonial video is an interview with one of your customers, cut to 60 to 90 seconds and supported by footage of their site or of your product in use. The customer describes the starting point, the decision and the result in their own words, with no advertising copy. Unlike an image film, it is not you talking about yourself but someone the viewer believes because they have nothing to sell. That is why the testimonial has replaced the reference list in many sales processes.

Four groups book testimonial videos with us. SaaS and B2B companies that want to shorten a long buying cycle by letting a customer from the same industry speak. Agencies that produce customer stories for their own clients and need a crew in Germany that turns up prepared and delivers on time. Exhibitors who already have customers and partners on their stand for three days and would rather record a statement in 20 minutes than chase a date months later. And the hidden champions of the Ruhr area, machine builders, component suppliers, plant engineers and software houses that sell worldwide and whose best reference is a customer who has used the product for years.

The same rule applies to all four: the video works when the customer is specific. Not “great cooperation” but which problem existed, why the decision went your way and what has changed since, measurably or noticeably. Our job is to get those sentences in the conversation and to place them in the edit so they carry in 60 to 90 seconds. The examples further down show what that looks like: the customer interview for Humanscale, and the stand statements from Sunakin at Vapexpo Paris and Rush at InterTabac Dortmund.

How we prepare the interview

A testimonial stands or falls with the preparation. After the briefing we write a question list that leads the customer from the starting point through the decision to the result. The customer receives the questions a few days ahead so they know what the conversation is about and can recall figures, names and timelines. What they do not receive is a script. Nobody reads from a sheet or a teleprompter on our shoots, because you hear it in every sentence and that is exactly when the viewer switches off.

The interview itself takes 20 to 30 minutes and is run as a conversation. Behzad Heidari has conducted interviews for film and television for more than 20 years and knows how to get three usable sentences out of a managing director who dislikes cameras within that time. Whoever stumbles simply says the sentence again; whoever drifts is brought back with a follow-up question. The customer does not have to memorise anything and never has to repeat a line they do not mean.

We always film with two cameras, one frontal and one from the side. The reason is practical: when we shorten or reorder sentences in the edit, we switch between the two angles and the cut stays invisible. With one camera every cut would have to be covered with B-roll, and the testimonial quickly looks glued together. Add a wireless microphone, our own lighting and a background that belongs to the customer: their office, their production hall, their stand.

Where we film

At the customer's site, anywhere in Germany. This is the strongest option because the setting and the result are visible: the product in use, the plant, the team working with it. We travel with compact equipment, set up in 30 minutes and are gone after two to three hours without disrupting the customer's day. Within NRW travel is included in every package, whether the customer sits in Düsseldorf, Cologne, Dortmund, Bielefeld, Münster or Aachen. For customers in Hamburg, Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt or Stuttgart we quote travel and, where needed, a hotel once per trip and list it in the offer.

On the trade fair stand (booth). Exhibitors at Messe Düsseldorf, Koelnmesse, Messe Essen or the Westfalenhallen in Dortmund have their customers and partners on site for three days. A statement is recorded in 20 minutes, often cut the same day and on LinkedIn as a vertical clip before the show ends. The Sunakin and Rush testimonials on this page were made this way. For exhibitors this is the most economical way to get three to six testimonials in a single week, which is why the Trio package fits here particularly well. For international exhibitors we run the interview in English, Arabic or Persian and invoice non-EU companies without German VAT.

At your office. When the customer is visiting anyway, for an acceptance, a training session or the annual review, we attach the interview to that appointment. We set up beforehand, the customer sits down for 20 minutes, done. Testimonials abroad, for example with your customer in the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Dubai or Istanbul, are produced on request.

What you receive: versions for website, LinkedIn, ads and sales decks

Every interview becomes a 60 to 90-second film in landscape (16:9) for your website, sales presentation and YouTube, plus vertical cuts (9:16) for LinkedIn, Instagram and paid ads. Subtitles are always included, in German or English with the Single package and in both languages from Trio, because phones play without sound and because your international prospects would otherwise not follow a German customer. Lower thirds with name, role and company and licensed music come with Trio and Serie.

In practice we deliver versions for four uses. The website version with subtitles and a calm cut for your service or reference page. The LinkedIn version, vertical or square, with the first three seconds cut to stop the scroll. The ads version with a short quote and your logo for Meta and LinkedIn campaigns. And a version without music for sales decks, which your sales team embeds in the presentation or sends as a link after the first call. Everything arrives in 4K or Full HD through a private download link; Trio and Serie also include a two to three-minute compilation of all interviews.

Usage rights are unlimited in time and territory. We collect a short written consent from the customer, bring the template to the shoot, and the customer sees the preview before anything is published. Raw footage is available on request.

White-label for agencies and platforms

A share of our testimonial work does not carry our name. We regularly produce testimonial videos on behalf of agencies and video platforms as their on-site crew: the agency or platform holds the client relationship, writes or approves the question list and delivers under its own name, while we handle the shoot, the audio and, if wanted, the edit, in NRW and across Germany. The end client meets a crew on the day that behaves like the agency's own team, and we appear nowhere, not in the credits, not in the metadata and not as a reference on this page.

For agencies with several clients in Germany and for platforms that need testimonials of consistent quality nationwide, we offer partner rates and a fixed workflow: briefing template, question list in your format, raw footage or edit to your specifications, delivery into your cloud. Details under For agencies.

Why a crew from Essen

Pixer GmbH sits at Messeallee 26 in Essen, 30 seconds from the Messe Essen entrance. Founder Behzad Heidari brings more than 20 years of film and TV production; a crew of two or three shoots on cinema cameras and an in-house team edits. The same crew works trade fairs in Düsseldorf, Cologne and Dortmund, so a testimonial on the stand can be combined with our trade fair video production.

Prices are fixed and published on this page. Travel within NRW is included; other German cities are quoted once per trip. Non-EU companies pay no German VAT, EU companies with a VAT ID are invoiced under reverse charge. We reply in English, German, Arabic or Persian.

FAQ

Questions about testimonial video production

What does a testimonial video cost per interview?

A single customer interview is €990 plus VAT (Testimonial Single). Three interviews on one shoot day are €2,490, which is €830 per interview, and up to six interviews on two shoot days are €4,990. Larger productions start with the brand film from €9,900.

How much time does our customer need to set aside?

About 45 minutes in total: 20 to 30 minutes of interview plus a few minutes for the microphone and seating. We set up and pack down without the customer. On a trade fair stand 20 minutes are enough.

Do you write the questions?

Yes. After the briefing we write a question list that leads from the starting point through the decision to the result and agree it with you. The customer receives it in advance. If you or your agency have your own questions, we work with those.

Natural or scripted?

Natural. Nobody reads from a script on our shoots. The customer knows the questions, answers freely, and we follow up on anything missing. Two cameras keep the cuts invisible. We recommend a script only for a voice-over, never for the customer.

Who owns the usage rights?

You do, without limits in time or territory, for website, social media, ads, trade fairs and presentations. We collect a short written consent from the customer and bring the template. The customer sees the preview before publication.

Do you record remote interviews over video call?

No. We film on site only, at the customer's, on the stand or at your office, because the picture, sound and light of a video call do not reach the quality a testimonial needs in sales. For customers outside NRW we quote travel once per trip; international on request.

How fast do you deliver?

Five working days for Single, seven for Trio, ten for Serie, counted from the shoot. Stand statements at a trade fair are delivered the same day as a vertical clip when agreed in advance. Express for other shoots on request.
