Hamburg Messe lies in the middle of the city, on the edge of the Schanze district and right by the Planten un Blomen park. Hamburg Messe und Congress lists eleven halls with 87,000 square metres of exhibition space and 10,000 square metres outdoors. The halls form two areas: the A grounds with halls A1 to A4 and the B grounds with halls B1 to B7. The halls vary a lot in size, and ceiling heights reach up to 17 metres.
The CCH, the Congress Center Hamburg, is a few minutes' walk away at Dammtor station. Many shows use it for conferences and talks that run alongside the exhibition. If you have a stand in the halls and a talk in the CCH, we plan both into fixed time slots.
For photo and video, the different hall sizes matter: a stand in a smaller hall looks different in photos from one in a large hall. We check your hall on the floor plan in advance and decide whether overviews work better wide or with a focus on details. For portraits and products we bring our own light so colours and skin tones are right.
The grounds have four entrances: South, Centre, East and West (Süd, Mitte, Ost, West). From Dammtor long-distance station the venue gives about eight minutes on foot to Entrance East via the Messeweg and about 20 minutes to Entrance Mitte. Alternatively, the S2 and S5 run one stop to Sternschanze, which suits the Mitte and West entrances. From Hamburg Central Station it is two minutes by S2 or S5 to Dammtor.
From Hamburg Airport take the S1 to Jungfernstieg and change to the U2 to Messehallen for the Mitte and Süd entrances. For Entrance West, take the S1 to Barmbek and the U3 to Sternschanze. For exhibitors from abroad the location helps: hotels, restaurants and meetings in the city are close together.
Our kit fits into rolling cases, no delivery is needed. Travel from Essen is quoted once per trip and shared between exhibitors of the same show week. Companies from outside the EU are invoiced without German VAT, EU companies with a VAT ID receive a reverse-charge invoice. The edited photos are ready before your flight home.
The general terms of participation of Hamburg Messe und Congress (HMC) state that photography and filming inside the venue are generally permitted. Exhibits and stands of other exhibitors may only be photographed or filmed with their consent, and all image and sound recordings must respect the personality rights of the people involved and the house rights of HMC and the exhibitors.
For commercial photography, film and video on the grounds, the terms require HMC's prior consent. HMC also has its own recordings made of the show, the stands and the exhibits, and uses them for reporting and promotion. Visitors are made aware by notices on site that photos and video are being taken.
For you this means: because our work on your stand is a commissioned production, we clear HMC's consent in advance together with you. We keep the camera on your stand area, do not target other stands and ask recognisable visitors before they become the subject of an image. The special terms of participation of your show also apply. We do not fly drones in the halls. If you plan to use the material in adverts later, we agree beforehand which people may be recognisable and whose consent should be on file.
October 2026 brings the Hydrogen Technology World Expo and the Carbon Capture Technology World Expo, November GET Nord for electrical, plumbing and heating trades. Nordstil in January shows home, gift and fashion products for retail, where product details and presentation come first.
INTERNORGA in March is the show for food service and hospitality, with tastings, kitchen technology and drinks. Food needs light that looks appetising and movement in video: plating, pouring, tasting. In April, Aircraft Interiors Expo and WTCE run in parallel, with cabin seats, mock-ups and onboard service that need careful light. OMR Festival follows in May 2027, Seatrade Europe in September 2027.
A typical day looks like this: before visitors are let in, stand overview, team photo and product details; from late morning, conversations, demos and tastings; in a quieter phase, interviews with lavalier microphones. In the evening the first selection goes to you, the rest follows within 24 hours.
Because Aircraft Interiors Expo and WTCE run in the same week, exhibitors of both shows can share the travel cost. Contact us early if you are in Hamburg that week.
