Messe Frankfurt sits west of the city centre, only a few hundred metres from the Hauptbahnhof; the Messeturm tower is visible from far away as a landmark. According to the venue there are around 400,000 m² of event space in ten halls and more than 59,500 m² of outdoor space. The halls are numbered 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12, alongside the historic Festhalle, the Congress Center, the Forum and Kap Europa.
Many halls have several levels, and that drives the planning. According to the venue, Hall 9 is the largest single hall with around 56,200 m² on four levels, Hall 10 also has four floors, Hall 4 three levels and Hall 5, opened in 2023, two levels. Hall 1 is linked directly to the Festhalle, the Forum and Hall 3, and Hall 12 has direct access to the Portalhaus and Torhaus entrances. The Via Mobile moving walkway connects the halls, including Hall 10 with Hall 11 and the Galleria.
Distances are long. Between a stand in Hall 1 and a meeting in Hall 11 there is a real walk, even more so with equipment. We always ask for hall, level and stand number and plan the day so we do not cross the grounds several times. The domed Festhalle serves as exhibition or event space at some shows and makes a strong backdrop for stage shots.
For exhibitors flying in, Frankfurt is one of the easiest trade fair cities in Germany. According to the venue the airport is around 15 minutes away by car or taxi. S-Bahn lines S3, S4, S5 and S6 stop at Frankfurt (Main) Messe station, the U4 at Festhalle/Messe, one stop from the Hauptbahnhof, and tram lines 16 and 17 also at Festhalle/Messe. On foot it is about ten minutes from the Hauptbahnhof. The entrances are Torhaus, City with the Festhalle, Portalhaus, Galleria and Congress Center. Drivers park at the Rebstock car park and take the shuttle to the grounds when it is running.
We usually travel from Essen the evening before and are on your stand before the doors open. Travel is quoted once per trip and shared between exhibitors of the same show week. During the show our crew needs exhibitor passes or tickets, so please plan two or three passes.
The Messe Frankfurt house rules require that photographs and image or sound recordings of any kind respect the law, in particular personality rights, trademark and design rights, and the house rights of Messe Frankfurt, the organiser and the exhibitors. Legal as well as posted and communicated photo restrictions and bans, especially on stands and exhibition areas, must be observed, and the organiser may set additional or different rules. In practice: we shoot your own stand (booth) as agreed with you, keep stands with a photo ban and other companies’ designs out of frame, and check your show’s exhibitor manual in advance.
Clean stand shots happen before the doors open, while the aisles are empty: overviews from several angles, product details, graphics and the team photo. After that we follow conversations, demos and visitors without interrupting your meetings. If your stand is finished on the last build-up day, we can also shoot it then without time pressure, provided the venue and organiser allow it; the rules are in the exhibitor manual.
At Ambiente and Heimtextil design, material and staging come first. Calm architectural images count here, product still lifes and details such as fabric textures or glazes that later work in catalogues and online shops. At ISH exhibitors show bathroom and building technology, often with live demonstrations. Formnext and ACHEMA are technical shows with machines, plants and processes, which we show so that non-engineers understand what is happening. At the Frankfurter Buchmesse many appointments revolve around authors and the stage programme.
Because we travel from Essen, a longer booking often makes sense in Frankfurt. The Full Day package with interviews and the 90-second film covers stand, team, conversations and statements in one day. Interviews are recorded in a quiet corner of your stand with a lavalier microphone and our own light, and our editors cut the 30-second highlight video and the vertical clips in parallel.
The Frankfurter Buchmesse comes in October 2026, Formnext and Fi Europe in November. 2027 opens with Heimtextil in January, followed at the end of January by Ambiente, Christmasworld and Creativeworld running together. ISH comes in March 2027, IMEX in May, ACHEMA in June, EUROBIKE at the start of July and CPhI Worldwide in November. Automechanika returns in September 2028.
Many of these shows bring exhibitors from all over the world. For international teams we work in English, Arabic or Farsi, run interviews in the speaker’s language and add subtitles on request. Companies outside the EU are invoiced without German VAT; EU companies with a VAT ID receive a reverse-charge invoice. The images are ready within 24 hours, usually before your team flies home.
At the end of January Ambiente, Christmasworld and Creativeworld run in parallel, and some companies exhibit at several of them or with several brands in different halls. In that case we plan one day across all stands, with fixed time windows per hall and one image package at the end: a consistent look for every brand, delivered in separate folders.
For the big weeks we suggest asking four to six weeks ahead. When several exhibitors of the same show week book, they share the travel cost; feel free to ask whether a trip is already planned for your show.
