A book cover cannot be read from two metres away. Anyone having their stand photographed at the book fair therefore needs two levels: overviews that show shelf walls, lightboxes and programme walls as a brand, and close-ups in which title, author name and cover are sharp and true to colour. We photograph shelves head-on with our own even light so glossy laminate does not reflect, and new titles individually for catalogue, preview and online shop.
Then come the pictures that make a book fair: authors signing, publisher and agent in conversation, the audience in front of the stand stage. We work without flash so readings are not disturbed, and with short focal lengths so the stand looks full and alive.
Readings, panel talks and signings are video content a publisher can use for months. We take audio via radio mic or straight from the stand PA, film stage and audience from two positions and cut short vertical clips with subtitles — for Instagram, TikTok and the trade newsletter. Short author interviews on the stand are delivered as finished statements, in German or English.
For agencies and rights departments we photograph in the Literary Agents & Scouts Centre and at negotiation tables discreetly and without flash — pictures that show who you work with without interrupting a meeting.
Wednesday and Thursday are calmer, aisles are wide and conversations are business — the best time for clean stand shots, team and product photos and interviews with rights partners. From Friday the grounds fill up; on Saturday and Sunday there are queues at the signing tables. If you want social media reach, book Saturday; if you need material for trade partners and press, book Thursday. A full show day on Thursday with stand shots before opening covers both, a four-hour package on Saturday adds the crowd pictures.

From €990 plus VAT for two hours of photo and video on site with at least 30 edited images and a 30-second highlight video. Four hours from €1,490, a full show day from €1,990. Travel to Frankfurt and any overnight stay are stated separately and transparently.
Thursday for stand shots, team photos and interviews, Saturday for full halls and signing queues. For most publishers a day on Thursday with shots before opening, plus four hours on Saturday, works best.
Yes. We take audio from the stand PA or via radio mic and film from two positions. You receive the full recording and short vertical clips with subtitles.
Yes. Portraits are taken right on the stand with our own light and a neutral background, about ten minutes per person. The images are cleared for press kit, publisher preview and website.
Yes. Interviews, briefing and the entire engagement run in English — a large share of our trade fair clients come from outside Germany. Invoices with VAT ID for EU companies, no German VAT for companies outside the EU.
