The Berlin ExpoCenter City fairground sits in the west of the city at the Funkturm radio tower. According to Messe Berlin it has 27 exhibition halls with around 190,000 m² of flexible hall and event space. There are also special locations: the Sommergarten as an open space between the halls, hub27 as a column-free congress and event hall with a roof terrace, the CityCube Berlin opened in 2014, the Palais Berlin with a large hall from the 1930s, and the Marshall-Haus.
Hall numbers reveal the level. Many halls have several floors, marked by a number after the dot, such as 1.1 and 1.2 or 5.1 to 5.3; Hall 7 adds letters, from 7.1a to 7.1c. Then there are the Small and Large Star halls and Halls 12 to 26. If you exhibit in Hall 2.2, you are not in Hall 2.1 below it. For us that detail is decisive, because stairs, lifts and a longer walk can lie between two levels.
Messe Berlin names the North and South entrances; the Messe Nord entrance is in front of Hall 19. hub27 and CityCube are in the southern part of the grounds. Which hall and entrance apply to your show is in the event’s hall plan. Light varies from hall to hall, so we check your stand before the first frame and bring our own light.
For the Messe Nord area and the Palais Berlin, take the U2 to Kaiserdamm or Theodor-Heuss-Platz, or the S-Bahn lines S41, S42 and S46 to Messe Nord/ZOB. For Messe Süd, CityCube and hub27, the S3 and S9 stop at Messe Süd station. According to Messe Berlin the grounds are directly connected to BER airport by public transport and motorway. By car, take the Messedamm exit from the A100 or A115; because the Ringbahn bridge on the A100 is closed, traffic at the Funkturm interchange has been rerouted since March 2025 and the venue recommends other exits depending on direction. The grounds themselves are outside the low-emission zone.
We travel from Essen the evening before and are on your stand before the doors open. Travel is quoted once per trip and shared between exhibitors of the same show week. During the show our crew needs exhibitor passes or tickets, so please plan two or three passes.
The Messe Berlin house rules prohibit taking photographs and film, video or audio recordings for commercial purposes, especially of stands and exhibits, without the prior written permission of Messe Berlin. They also point out that Messe Berlin and third parties it commissions make their own recordings for reporting, advertising and documentation. So please check in your exhibitor documents before the show how permission for our shoot on your stand (booth) is obtained; we provide names, days and scope. We do not deliberately shoot neighbouring stands, and recognisable visitors only with consent.
Clean stand shots happen before the doors open, while the aisles are empty: overviews from several angles, product details, graphics and the team photo. After that we follow conversations, demos and visitors without interrupting your meetings.
Berlin shows are often international and media-heavy. At ITB tourism suppliers from all over the world meet, the stands are colourful and full of people, and many exhibitors want meetings with partners documented. IFA is a consumer electronics show with screens, light shows and demos, where we adjust exposure so displays do not blow out. At FRUIT LOGISTICA fresh produce is the subject, at InnoTrans rail vehicles and technology that need space and wide lenses. CWIEME and CMS Berlin are trade shows with machines, components and many conversations.
For team photos and portraits outside the hall, the Sommergarten and the view of the Funkturm work well, provided your show opens these areas and the weather plays along. A group shot with the radio tower behind you shows at a glance that you were in Berlin and performs better on LinkedIn than another hall picture. We plan a short window for it in the morning.
Because press, partners and politicians often visit stands in Berlin, recording talks, panels or a live stream from the stand pays off. We agree this with you in advance, including sound and internet connection. Interviews are recorded in a quiet corner of your stand with a lavalier microphone and our own light; our editors cut the 30-second highlight video and the vertical clips in parallel.
October 2026 brings Bar Convent Berlin, belektro and the Smart Country Convention, and the end of November BOOT & FUN. 2027 opens in February with FRUIT LOGISTICA, ITB Berlin follows in March and CWIEME in April. IFA takes place at the start of September 2027 and CMS Berlin at the end of September 2027. InnoTrans took place in September 2026 and returns every two years.
Many exhibitors at ITB, FRUIT LOGISTICA and IFA travel from abroad. For international teams we work in English, Arabic or Farsi, run interviews in the speaker’s language and add subtitles on request. Companies outside the EU are invoiced without German VAT; EU companies with a VAT ID receive a reverse-charge invoice. The images are ready within 24 hours, usually before your team flies home.
For the big weeks we suggest asking four to six weeks ahead. Because travel to Berlin is charged once per trip, a Full Day package or several consecutive days make sense; when several exhibitors of the same show week book, they share the cost. At shows with consumer days such as IFA or BOOT & FUN we schedule the stand shots for the first hours, before the big crowds arrive.
