The Deutsche Messe exhibition grounds lie in the south of Hannover on the border with Laatzen. According to Deutsche Messe they offer 392,500 m² of hall space and 58,000 m² of open-air site. The halls are numbered up to 27, alongside the Convention Center, the EXPO canopy with four wooden pavilions and Hermesplatz as an open space. On grounds this size, planning decides whether a show day feels relaxed or rushed.
Deutsche Messe describes the grounds in zones. The northern halls are served by the North 1 and North 2 entrances, with around 9,000 parking spaces and tram line 8 right in front of Halls 2 and 19/20. Hall 2 is column-free at 15,515 m². The eastern halls are reached through the East 3 and South 1 entrances, with around 4,300 parking spaces and tram line 6 for Halls 6 to 11, 14 to 16 and the Convention Center. A glass walkway links the Convention Center with Hall 7. In the west are the large Halls 13, column-free and able to be darkened at 23,615 m², and 27 at 30,845 m², each with its own entrance.
For a shoot this means: we ask for hall, stand number and any second location such as the open-air site, a partner stand or a talk stage in advance and set the route per day. Between halls far apart we plan buffer time. Light differs a lot between halls and the open-air site; at Agritechnica and HANNOVER MESSE machines also stand outside, where we work with daylight and weather.
From Hannover Hauptbahnhof, tram lines 8 and 18 take around 18 minutes to the North 1 and 2 entrances according to Deutsche Messe, terminating at Messe/Nord. Line 6 runs to the East 3 entrance, and bus lines 340 and 341 stop at Gutenbergstraße for the South entrance and at Messe/Laatzen for the West 1 entrance. The Hannover Messe/Laatzen ICE station sits directly at the West 1 entrance. From the airport the S5 runs to the Hauptbahnhof, where you change to line 8; by taxi the ride takes around 30 minutes depending on traffic. By car the Messeschnellweg (B6) leads to the grounds.
We travel from Essen the evening before and are on your stand before the doors open. Travel is quoted once per trip and shared between exhibitors of the same show week. During the show our crew needs exhibitor passes or tickets, so please plan two or three passes.
The Deutsche Messe house and grounds regulations are clear for exhibitors: photo, film and online productions for commercial purposes need prior written permission from Deutsche Messe. Productions that exhibitors carry out themselves or through third parties they commission on their own stand (booth) are exempt, so our work on your stand falls under that exemption. Drones may generally not take off or land on the grounds or car parks; exceptions need prior written consent. Shots outside your stand, for example on the open-air site or at a shared stage, we agree in advance with you and the organiser. Recognisable visitors we photograph only with consent.
Clean stand shots happen before the doors open, while the aisles are empty: overviews from several angles, machines and exhibits in detail, graphics and the team photo. After that we follow demonstrations, conversations and visitors without interrupting your meetings.
Hannover is an industrial venue. At HANNOVER MESSE, EuroBLECH and LIGNA the focus is on machines, robots and production processes. We show them in motion, with short shutter speeds for sparks and chips and smooth camera moves for the film. Agritechnica and EuroTier are about agricultural machinery and livestock, often with large exhibits on the open-air site that need wide lenses and raised viewpoints. didacta is an education fair with many talks and hands-on areas, where we photograph people in action.
Many exhibitors in Hannover launch new products at the show. We record a press conference or unveiling on your stand with two cameras and separate sound and cut clips for LinkedIn the same day. Interviews are recorded in a quiet corner of your stand with a lavalier microphone and our own light; our editors cut the 30-second highlight video and the vertical clips in parallel.
EuroBLECH comes in October 2026, EuroTier and EnergyDecentral in November. didacta follows in February 2027 and Tire Technology Expo in March. HANNOVER MESSE takes place in April, LIGNA in May 2027 and Agritechnica in November 2027.
Several of these shows are not annual, including EuroBLECH, EuroTier, LIGNA and Agritechnica. The images from one edition then have to last until the next, for the website, catalogues, distributor decks and LinkedIn. That makes the Full Day package with interviews and the 90-second film especially worthwhile, all the more since travel is incurred anyway.
At long shows like Agritechnica, which runs for seven days, booking every day in full rarely makes sense. A full first day for stand, team and film plus a second, shorter block on a day with key customer meetings, a press conference or an award ceremony works well. You get a complete image package without paying for quiet show days.
HANNOVER MESSE and Agritechnica draw exhibitors from all over the world. For international teams we work in English, Arabic or Farsi, run interviews in the speaker’s language and add subtitles on request. Companies outside the EU are invoiced without German VAT; EU companies with a VAT ID receive a reverse-charge invoice. For the big weeks we suggest asking four to six weeks ahead; when several exhibitors of the same week book, they share the travel.
